just for the sake of clarification, are you saying that Syria played a role in triggering the last war between Israel and Lebanon to test the Israeli military's strength? (was it like: let's test Israel's capability! the cost would only be more than a 1000 civilian deaths and a destroyed economy).
Moreover, was this war a test for Syrians and Hezbollah, or also a test for Israel who was able to identify its points of weakness and work on mending them?
