Well theres a trance style called "goa" which indeed got its name after the island of Goa, as in the 60s some hippie dudes preferred to have their joints there rather under palm trees on the beach. They also created a new music style, about those early days I dont know much, how that sounded, some goa experts may enlighten us here though. Then gradually this style called goa has evolved, which is basically like trance music, but containing much more exciting and rich elements: like indian music tones, violin, the singing of the whales, exotic instruments just to mention few...
Goa freaks still hold the tradition, and they gather several times a year on exotic islands /usually in the mediterranean, in Thailand or south indian ocean islands/ to party non stop.
One thing I dont like about this music though, that they are using drugs on the parties, usually marijuana or LSD but who knows what else. Dont know why they need it, as this music is pure drug in itself.
