The Rahbany Brothers

Mansour loved poetry since his early years and started writing his own poems at the age of eight. At the age of twelve, he subscribed to the Almakshouf magazine, followed later by other literary magazines. Assi shared his brother’s passion and read the magazines together with him with great interest. From there, they graduated to reading philosophy and the books of Taghour, Doystovski and Shakespeare.

The following is an example of his poetry then showing his sense of humor:
Mansour, jealous of his older brother’s success, established a similar magazine which he called Alaghani and started competing with Alhershayeh.

Things did not go well with the Fawwar restaurant and their father was forced to sell it and buy a small restaurant at Almneibee’ region. He also opened a restaurant in Antelias which he worked in winters. Thus, the family spent seven years moving between Almneibee’ in summer and Antelias in winter. The family was suffering financially forcing Assi and Mansour to help by picking lemons and lending their father a hand at his new restaurants.
