Can we whine here? Yes

I knew of a place where fantasy came to life; an enchanted forest beyond imagination. I was privilaged to walk into it when I was around 17, it happened once and wasn't possible afterwards. Jeyitkon bil7ake. Anyway, I don't think I would ever be able to find the words to describe what I saw, I was baffled, as if I had stepped into another world. The branches were like those you see in horror movies, you could barely walk. I strongly believe that the trees were as old as the first drop of soil on that land. That place was known to have so many snakes and people didn't walk there, I did it because I was so curious to find out what it was like deep on the inside. As I walked through and in places where there was more light, I could smell a beautiful smell coming from a yellow plant, it was everywhere. I later I found out from the locals that that plant was called القندول

I didn't know it back then...

I couldn't walk too deep into the forest so as not to land in Israel. I said to myself back then that when Isarel withdraws, I'll return to explore more of it. I waited years and years for the day, it was always on my mind. However, the forest was all brought to ashes just before Israel left. They burnt it down to clear the borders. The buggers left and took my dream land with them.

Yes, i'm still very sad. It hit me like a storm when I heard that the forest was burning, and till now, and after all those years, I could cry just by the thought of it.

If anyone knows of a similar place anywhere in Lebanon, please let me know.
