I have been trying since ages to open up ports in the modem to allow much greater access for my PS3 on PSN and its not working.
I have tried everything.
I connected my PS3 directly to my modem through an ethernet cable and gave it a static IP address and opened up the ports to that address and nothing happens (NAT type remains type 3).
I also tried putting my PS3 under DMZ (i.e. assign a public IP address) but that didn't work either (I guess that's something IDM doesn't allow).
I'm sure there is a way because I do have an old connection with Pesco and IDM (the wireless broadband thing) and when connected to my PS3, it gives me a NAT type 2 connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
As a side note, there is no difference between any NAT type in terms of lag. However, having a NAT type 1 or 2 would entail much greater access to the net, i.e. you can find much more online games (be it on PS3, X360, PC), much more stable connections and much more P2P speeds, i.e. limewire and others would perform much better. | Call IDM (1282) and tell them I need my "real" IP and assign it to the modem and try again.
Ps: When you call IDM speak to Maroun or Joelle wa ella ma btekhoud natijeh... |
